Ford was founded in 1903. It was founded by 12 shareholders led by Henry Ford. With only $28,000 in start-up capital, by the end of the year they were able to set up production, release their first cars, and make a profit of $37,000. Gradually, Henry Ford bought up the shares of his partners and by 1919 became the sole owner of the company. To this day, the controlling stake in the company belongs to the Ford family.

In 1908, Henry Ford launched the production of the famous Ford T model. During the production period from 1908 to 1927, 15 million cars were produced. In addition to the production of cars, Ford is also expanding the sales market; in the same 1908, he opens a car sales branch in Paris.

In 1913, the assembly line was first introduced at Ford enterprises. Previously, a team of workers assembled one car from start to finish, for this they needed 12.5 hours. Now the car was assembled in 1.5 hours. This innovation made it possible not only to increase the number of manufactured machines tenfold, but also to significantly reduce their cost.

The development of the company continued in 1922, when the Lincoln Motor Company was bought. The Lincoln brand has become Ford’s luxury brand.

At the same time, the history of relations between Ford and the Soviet Union begins. An agreement was signed on the construction of an automobile plant in Nizhny Novgorod, where, under a license, after the construction of the plant, the GAZ-A and GAZ-AA models were produced.

The history of cooperation has continued to this day. In 2002, one of the first factories of a foreign brand was launched in Russia. The Ford plant was built in the Leningrad region, in the city of Vsevolozhsk. The company assembled a Ford Focus car in a full cycle, including welding and body painting. Over the years, this model has been very popular with buyers and has gone through several restylings. Now the third generation Ford Focus is leaving the assembly line of the plant in Vsevolozhsk.
